Aoife Ní Mháille

Aoife joined Scholastic Languages in 2013 and has been a key team player since then. In 2014 Aoife introduced and co-edited our course booklet with teacher Johanna Lee. A fluent speaker of the Irish language, Aoife has over ten years teaching experience including intense Irish language summer courses in the Gaeltacht coupled with in-school teaching. Having been employed as an oral and written examiner with the State Exams Commission for the past five years, Aoife is well in touch with both the Leaving and Junior Certificate Curricula and Examinations. Aoife is a member of Comhar na Múinteoirí Gaeilge.

Deborah Ní Cheallaigh

A secondary Irish teacher, I have taught in an All-Irish medium setting and on summer courses in the Gaeltacht for the past eight years. I have expertise in facilitating intensive courses for students at junior and senior cycle while also having experience of facilitating on a ‘Cúrsa Abhar Oidí’ for third level students. I am a fluent Irish speaker possessing the skills to facilitate students to learn ‘as Gaeilge’ in a range of different ways using various different teaching methods. As a second level teacher involved in both T1 and T2 specifications as part of the new Junior Cycle alongside my Leaving Certificate syllabus knowledge, I have key experience in best practice relating to both specifications.

Linda Nic Mhathúna
B.Ed. (Hons), Trinity College; M.Ed., Trinity College
Linda taught in a large school in Bray for five years and was involved in initiatives to promote Irish as a spoken language within the school. She completed a Master in Education focusing on cooperative learning and teaching children the necessary skills to work collaboratively. This year, she has started working in Co. Sligo as principal.
Linda has been involved with Scholastic Languages since starting as a cinnire eight years ago. She has gained invaluable experience and enjoyed taking part in a whole array of activities through the medium of Irish. Linda finds it fantastic to see children speaking and learning Irish both in the classes and during the activities.

Lynne Ni Ghiolla Chaillin

Is mise Lynne Ni Ghiolla Chaillin! Lynn has been teaching with Scholastic Summer Camp for 3 years. She is a primary teacher in a Gaelscoil in Co. Sligo, with five years teaching experience. Along with the rest of our team, Lynne aims to provide an enjoyable learning environment where children feel relaxed while learning. The focus is on oral language and helping children to speak Gaeilge with confidence while having fun. As class sizes are small the children work in pairs, small groups or with the teacher. The camp is so enjoyable and it is wonderful to see the children’s progress throughout.

Michelle Ní Raghnaill

Michelle obtained a Bachelor in Education from Marino Institute of Education in 2014. A native of Sligo, Michelle is currently teaching in a primary school in South Dublin. She has worked with Coláiste na bhFiann in the past and has a grá for the Irish language. Michelle enjoys teaching, as well as sean nós dancing, drama and sport.

Danielle O’Connell
Danielle O’Connell B.A. in Gaeilge & Bearla St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, P.M.E.Trinity College Dublin
Danielle obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra in Irish & English before being accepted to the Professional Masters in Education in Trinity College, Dublin. A Sligo native, Danielle returned to Sligo in 2016 where she has been teaching full time since in a permanent position. Danielle believes the classroom is not complete without laughter! Danielle aims to change student’s attitudes towards Gaeilge and help ignite her passion for the language within them as well as help them learn within a positive and fun environment. She has a lot of experience within drama, and this is one element she loves incorporating into her lessons.

Stacey De Bhál

Stacey obtained a Primary Masters in Education in 2016. A native of Easkey in Sligo, Stacey is currently teaching in a primary school in Sligo town. This is Stacey’s second year working with scholastic languages. She enjoys creating an environment where children have fun through the use of the Irish language. Stacey enjoys teaching, drama and sport and music.

Sinéad is a Bachelor of Education student who joined our Scholastics Summer Camp team in 2017 and cannot wait to return! Her favourite subject to teach during school placement has been Gaeilge. She is passionate about enabling children to enjoy speaking ‘cúpla focal’ in a fun learning environment. Sinéad looks forward to bringing her fresh ideas and learnings about Irish from college to Scholastics.
